Warbler or songbird perched on a tree branch

According to the Birds of North America website there are over 760 bird species that breed in North America. Keeping a bird log or journal is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and get to know our feathery friends.

The library has many books on birding that are fantastic. To find them, use the Library Catalog tab from the ISU Libraries homepage and type in the keyword search: bird and (guide or guidebook or handook or dictionary or encyclopedia). In the meantime, visit How to Start Birding and eBird to get some useful tips and ideas to start your adventure.
