History Vault consists of U.S. Government records that focus on the interaction between American workers, labor unions, and the federal government during the 1st half of the 20th century. The Department of Justice investigative files on the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) and the Communist Party are just two of the 13 collections in this database. Other notable topics covered are surveillance of radicals 1917-1941, strike files 1894-1920, unemployment relief 1930-1933, and farm tenancy 1936-1937. This full-text archive collection of primary source material can be searched or browsed. You will find links to it in the Databases list and in the History Research Guide.
