AAS Historical Periodicals Collection

AAS Historical Periodicals Series 1-5 includes millions of digitized pages of  American magazines and journals from the American Antiquarian Society, the premier library documenting the life of America's people from the Colonial Era through the Civil War and Reconstruction, 1684 through 1912.  It provides access to articles on every aspect of American life, such as agriculture, religion, literature, music and the arts, politics, women’s fashion, science, medicine, and much more.  Select a single narrow time period (ex.: 1821 to 1837), combine several eras, or search across the entire collection.  Though primarily in English, other languages are also represented.  Some magazines and journals from Britain are also available.   This is a wonderfully rich resource.  Please ask for assistance at the Reference Desk or Ask a Librarian.
