Idaho Newspapers available on
the Library of Congress' Chronicling America Website

Historic issues of the Montpelier Examiner published between 1896 and 1922 are now up and running on the Library of Congress’ Chronicling America website.  With funds awarded by the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Idaho State Historical Society (ISHS) is digitizing the Examiner and 24 other Idaho newspapers printed before 1923.  These titles will join the thirty Idaho newspapers already posted to Chronicling America.  Access is free, and the newspapers are keyword-searchable. Among the other newspapers being digitized this year are titles published in American Falls, Blackfoot, Grangeville, Oakley, and Shoshone.
