Finding Open Educational Resources (OER)

by Laura Gleason on July 7th, 2022 in Education, Technology and Technical Education | 0 Comments

OER are An orange letter O wearing a graduation capmaterials that are openly licensed, which means that everyone has free and perpetual permission to use them. Individuals may retain, reuse, revise, remix, and redistribute these resources. Using OER can greatly reduce the cost of textbooks among college students. Research indicates that usage of OER increases retention and improves learning among college students.

There are many ways to find these resources. The library has created a guide all about OER. One page focuses on tools that can be used for finding OER textbooks, videos, quiz and tutorial packages, and more.

The library will offer a free workshop on searching for OER on July 14th at 10 am. If you are interested in attending, add this to your calendar and use the Zoom link to join the training. You may also attend in person by coming to the Oboler Library, Room 212, on the Pocatello campus.
