Library HVAC Upgrade

Library Computer Lab & Special Collections to closed thru August 2026

The Library building has been designated to undergo an HVAC upgrade over a two year period, and to affect all staff whose work areas are in the building (Library, ITRC, ITS, and Disabilities Services.)

Work on the project will be done in phases designed to maximize safety and to minimize the impact on faculty, staff and students. For this project, the Library will observe its customary hours and Library services will continue throughout the project, except for times when the university is closed.

The Library will post status and updates on its website at www.isu.edu/library and will post periodic reminders on Idaho State Today and ROAR Weekly.

Selected details below:

  • Nov. 25, 2024 until project ends (projected--end of Fall 2026 semester)
    • Special Collections and University Archives physical collection closed.
      Digital and phone services, only, available.
  • Computer Lab in Library will be closed.  (Dec. 14, 2024 to August 21, 2026).
    • PawPrint will available on the 1st Floor.
  • Fall semester 2025
    • Physical collection and study space on northern end of floors 2-3 will be inaccessible to the public. Library staff will deliver items requested from closed areas to the front desk.

Phase 4: Fall 2025

Dates: Aug. 25, 2025 to Dec. 19, 2025

During this phase the following areas of the Oboler Library Building will be affected and inaccessible to all, except Library Building employees.

  • Floor 3, North End
  • Floor 2, North End (excluding LIB 212)
  • Floor 2: Rooms 266, 268 & 269

Physical items may be Requested. Maps will not be available during this period. Please Call 208-282-3248 to arrange pick up.
