The Oboler Library at Idaho State University is pleased to announce our spring art exhibit through June 30th by two graduating Idaho State University students: Brenna Miller and William Bybee. The art exhibit is located on the first floor and available to view anytime the Library is open; see the library's website for a complete listing hours.
Brenna Miller is a Spring 2021 graduate of ISU, obtaining bachelor's degrees of education with an endorsement of fine art and in art. She currently works at ISU Campus Recreation as the Climbing Wall Coordinator and Head Routesetter. Miller derives much of her inspiration from rock climbing and the local high desert landscape of southern Idaho. Miller was born in Missoula, Montana, but primarily grew up in southern Idaho. Much of her time is consumed by endless hours of painting, rock climbing, hiking, skiing, and working on home improvement projects. The art Miller creates is a uniquely smooth blend of acrylic paint that combines cartoon, realism, and surrealism.
William Bybee is a Spring 2021 graduate of ISU, obtaining a master's degree of fine arts. His research has been centered around a love of abstract art. Through abstraction, Bybee explores the worlds of codes and queer abstraction as avenues to discuss meaningful subjects. Some of his works are based on the concept that humans are all the same but organized in different patterns. Bybee purposefully uses colors and symbols in his paintings to inspire discovery and exploration through embedded visual messages. Bybee grew up in southeast Idaho and attended North Gem High School. He has an associate's degree in lasers and electro-optics and a bachelor’s degree of art from ISU.
