March 1, 2022, will mark the 150th anniversary of Yellowstone National Park. In celebration of this major milestone, Special Collections and Archives (SC&A) has launched an exhibit that highlights the park from the early to mid-twentieth century with images from its collections.
The exhibit is on display beginning Aug. 23, 2021, in three areas of the library: the SC&A department located in the basement, the administration suite on the first floor, and the gallery hall on the first floor. The images in the gallery hall will be on display through the end of September, while those in the administration suite and in the SC&A department will be on display through the end of 2022.
The Special Collections and Archives department has over 500 items in fifteen of its collections that focus on Yellowstone National Park. These items include photographs, postcards, maps, reports, correspondence, books, and journals. A digital collection of these items will be available beginning March 1, 2022.
