Best Resources for your Voice Literature Projects

Use these  resources to find vocal scores as well as  information for your program notes.

Looking for magazine or journal articles, reviews of recordings and performances, and other information for your program notes?   The following resources will be helpful.

A few additional resources you might try:

Internet Resources:

  • Women Composers Collection: A collection of mostly 19th- and early 20th-century musical scores by women composers held at the University of Michigan Music Library. Not all items are available to non-University of Michigan users.
  • The LiederNet Archive: A database of over ten thousand art-song and part-song texts, many of which include literal translations in English and over twenty other languages. Indexed by composer, poet, language, composer title, first line, and songs in English or English translation (title and first line). The search engine searches only the texts, not the translations.
  • IMSLP -- Petrucci Music Library: In case you don't find your score in the library catalog: Petrucci /IMSLP is a free public domain music library, from the International Music Score Library Project. Great source for scores in electronic format.
